  1. Happy 34th brithday EPRP
keep up the struggl for the unity and freedom of Ethiopian people

  2. I just want to say Happy 34th Anniversary EPRP. You are the most genuine and dedicated Ethiopian political organization loved by the Ethiopian people of all ethnic origin and hated by their enemies, be it domestic or foreign. The Ethiopian people deserve better. Keep the good fight. You will be the winner sooner or later. God bless you.

  3. You are responsible for provoking the Dergue to kill so many innocent students and poor ppl. Your urban struggle was so futile and inconsistent you were borderline anarchists. Now you are trying to be democrats. For ppl in my age group know what you did during the the late 60’s and early 70’s of Ethiopian calander. Death to all of you bastards.

  4. Happy 34th Anniversary EPRP!! I appreciate the unwavering committment of members and leaders of the party which survived all the challeneges from different quarters. I wish EPRP will work hard to involve the youth in this critical period in our history. It needs to exert extra effort to deal with the unwarranted suspicions prevalent particularly amongst those who do not know the causes and intents of the party.

    May God Bless Ethiopia!!

  5. Happy 34th anniversary.

  6. The 34th birth day of EPRP proves the just idea which was raised by those who paid and still paying sacrification. It is the sign of firmness. What is surprising is, those who killed one generation are still wishing the death of all EPRP members both present and past members (see the comment above by Tamerate Zewude). This will stregthen the party and at the same time this is a wake up call what the Derge and Woyane butchers are planning to do.

  7. Happy birth day EPRP. I was a former member of EPRP, and now I have decided to join the party.

  8. I wish every success to the 34th young EPRP. I remembered the song which entitled LETEGELU NEWU HIWOTE. The struggle will continue until Ethiopians win.

  10. Happy Anniversary to you and to the fathers and mothers of our martyrs! EPRP, you are the organization of the braves and the party of the free thinking Ethiopians who know best what to do with their national duty, which is why you are known to the vast majority of Ethiopians as having qualities that exemplify a dedication and commitment to what you stand for. There are times when one must stand tall and defend one’s country, but EPRP unlike some traitors you are remaining steadfast and invariable throughout time in defending Ethiopian interest and all.

Happy anniversary and happy Ethiopian new year!!

  16. HAPPEY 34 ANNIVERSARY EPRP
    UOR STRAGGLE WILL CONTINU!!!!!

    LONG LIVE RPRP!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Dear friends in the EPRP,

First, I say happy anniversary. I am glad you survived this long despite so many hostile conditions against you all the years. I understand that your strength is built on the solid foundation of unshakable love for Ethiopia and all its people from boarder to boarder. You have sacrificed a lot because of this and, if necessary, you seem ready to do so in the future too. Form my own simple observations quite for some time, I have come to the following conclusions regarding your organization.

    1. All foreign enemies of Ethiopia or those who aspire to exploit its resources do not like the EPRP. They do their best to discredit, blackmail, weaken or even destroy it. These include Shabia of Eritrea, most Arab countries and some Western countries including the US and UK.

    2. All non-democratic Ethiopian organizations and regimes that are not interested in the well being of the Ethiopian people did not/do not like the EPRP. They do their best to discredit, blackmail, weaken or even destroy it. These include TPLF, Derg and some other groups depending upon the political environments.

    3. As a political organization, the EPRP is respected and trusted by the Ethiopian people across the board.

    4. Presently, there is no any better political organization than the EPRP standing in defense of the Ethiopian people. The kinijit leaders elected by the Ethiopian people are in prison and the core of the organization has been destroyed by TPLF/EPRDF. The so called Kinijit International Leadership cannot be reliable for any useful actions because, among others, it itself is very weak because of internal problems and it has formed alliance (AFD) with anti-Ethiopia groups. All other pro-Ethiopia organizations in existence are not that strong to have an impact on their own and to be relied on. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the EPRP to shoulder the responsibility of leading the Ethiopian people to victory. I trust you will do it more wisely this time in collaboration with all other Ethiopian organizations who love their country and people, as you are trying to do every time these days.

Let God help you to lead the Ethiopian people to victory, which you have been dreaming all these years.

    Again, Happy Anniversary.

  18. i don’t think it’s a happy moment for ethiopian mothers and fathers who lost their sons and daughters owing to reckless and power hungry leadreship of EPRP 3 deacdes ago. on top of that, EPRP is the enemy of Ethiopiawinet!! it was the first poltical body to approve the succession of Eritrea. it was also the first political body in Ethiopia to work with historical enemies like somalia. not only that, it is also the road block and snug for the onset of good and democratic governance in ethiopia in many ways! no one jubilates with your damn terrorist organization. paranthetically, I would like to advise Wondimu Mekonnen, who, I believe is one of the ethiopian patriots in the diaspora, should not be present himself in any events of EPRP, because, for most ethiopians EPRP is TPLF, TPLF is EPRP interms of political philosophy.

  19. Do we congratulate for endless and bitter struggle against injustice, and barbaric crimes which is still going on? Not exactly! This is time for reflection and it reminds me of the “One step forward, two steps back” theme. It is time for us to reflect and ask whether to?
It is laughable to have read comments which equate EPRP to TPLF. These are comments that come from honest and innocent Ethiopians who had very limited knowledge and experience of the ideological battle waged agains TPLF.
I, however, am of the opinion that EPRP is finding itself at a political crossroad and it is the right time to make proper assessment and develop timely leadership direction in all aspects of Ethiopian life. One of the issues will be the ability to narrow the generational gap in thinking and providing prgmatic political and economic solutions which can be understood and accepted by the younger generation. The party had mobilised the youth and can it do it once again this time?
    United we stand and overcome

  20. Lead the struggle EPRP. Rise your voice and call all the Ethiopians once again but this time to save the Holly Mother Ethiopia. It is only you with the ability and the turst to do so. Happy birht day. The martyrs are calling upon you !!!

  21. Congratulations EPRP.Despite the innumberable challenges it faced the sprit of our martirs and undomitable brothers and sisters is still alive.the party is still upholding the popular banner for democractic and united motherland.Go Forward EPRP INACHENIFALEN/

  22. Ato gebru, no need to have detail political knowledge to guess EPRP’s political philosophy. if you watch its move closely, its hunger and thirst is to hold power by any means and start looting the country’s wealth. TPLF is doing the same thing, it is looting the country’s resourse with out any body’s consent. it’s not surprising to equate EPRP with TPLF. their political idelogy is looting the country’s wealth.

  23. My dear Eyasu,

Are you serious about what you said above referring to the EPRP: “…if you watch its move closely, its hunger and thirst is to hold power by any means and start looting the country’s wealth.” Do you really also believe ERPR=TPLF? I think you must see a doctor. Even Meles, the pathlogical lair, does not dare to say this. Although you belong to one of the groups I categorized above as anti-Ethiopia or antidemocracy, I think you are doing it too much. If you are a TPLF cadre (most probably yes), I thing Meles will punish you for going over-board, unless you are medically sick.

Other observations I failed to mention in my previous message about the EPRP are the following:

The party has the honesty to publcly admit the mistaks it made before. These were also honest mistaks committed while trying to do good for our country and people. The party was able to learn from its mistaks and never repeated them. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why it is slow in its actions during the 2 last decads.

As every body knows, as much as possible, the EPRP strives to carry out its activities together with other Ethiopian organizations as long as they are pro-Ethiopia and pro-democracy. It does not matter whether the other organizations have a history of disagreement with the EPRP.

These and the other characteristics which I mentioned before are desirable qualities which, I think, not many Ethiopian political organizations possess. People should be more serious and honest, and give credit where it is due. We are now confronted with a problem where the very existence of our country is challenged. Do we want Ethiopia to exist or not? We should make a decision and act now before it is too late.

I hope the EPRP will play a leading role along with other patriotic and democratic ethiopian organizations.

Long live Ethiopia and its hard-working and peace-loving people.

  24. Wowoka,

you guys(EPRP’s)are good in character killing of innocent people. you don’t know me and said I am TPLF out of the blue. ”anybody who opposes EPRP is TPLF and non Ethiopian; any one claims to be an ethiopian must concur with the political ideology of the dignified long serving opposition party, EPRP!!because our party posses unique qualities that no other parties have.we’re pioneers and know everything for ethiopia better than other parties. we have TEMOKRO” this is your language sir/madam, so how on earth do you think suc a dictator party be able to bring democracy in Ethiopia?never! EPRP can only exacerbate the present misery of the country. so it is my prayer and wish that parties like EPRP not to step in ethiopian soil and dimise for good. may the almighty God give us a party which fears him and spritually cultured.
    Sincerely

  25. EPRP is the only organization with capability and trust to lead the country.Happy anniversary to all of you who sacrified every thing you have for the sake of your people and your country.

  26. The best political party and government in Ethiopia is EPRDF and only EPRDF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. AS I UNDERSTAND FOUGHT FOR YEARS AS ONE OF THE FRONT PERSON AND CARRIED TOO MANY THREATS, I BELIEVED EPRP WAS FOUND AND DECLARED ON AUGUST 26,168(1976).

tHE DELARATION THAT THE PARTY WAS FOUND ON APRIL 1934 OR FOR THAT DIFFERENT DATE IS UNFOUNDED AND FALSE.
PLEASE CLEAR THE MESS AND DIFFERICIATE BETWEEN THE PARTY AND THE GROUPS WHO THOUGHT FOUND IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE REST OF THE WORK IS GOOD KEEP IT UP.

  28. I grew up fatherless because dad was killed by brutal when I was 7 months old. Yes, all I know about my dad is picture and recorded voice. He was third year AAU student; and I want to believe he died for the good of Ethiopia. I wander if EPRP admits it did serious mistakes by choosing that action.
